One of our key sustainability elements is our pioneering PAS 2050:2011 carbon reporting model, which is independently validated by Ecometrica, the UK’s leading greenhouse gas accounting and compliance specialists.
The carbon model measures our overall carbon balance which uniquely demonstrates that the carbon captured during tree growth is greater than the carbon used to deliver, manufacture and supply our timber products.
Not only does this enable key trigger impacts to be identified and reduced but our resulting carbon negative footprint can be applied to supply contract volumes and individual house designs, to complement client CSR requirement in a meaningful and robust manner.
We are happy to work with customers to develop bespoke CSR reports in line with their specific requirements.
Using the PAS 2050:2011 carbon data, we have been able to provide clients with valuable carbon negative tonnages in support of their corporate social responsibility targets and offer “ best- practice” supply chain visits to demonstrate our green credentials in practice.
For example, during 2013:
- We supplied a major JJI-Joist house-builder with the equivalent of
3,885 independently validated carbon negative tonnes
- We supplied a key timber merchant with the equivalent of
40,000 independently validated carbon negative tonnes
- We supplied a volume pallet producer with the equivalent of
5,700 independently validated carbon negative tonnes
Our unique LCA capability combined with our sustainable sourcing and ISO 14001 accreditations make the James Jones Group the UK’s most environmentally sound, large scale timber processor, and the logical choice for all your timber requirements.
