Tom Coates, Area Supply Manager at James Jones & Sons Ltd has been named Professional Forester of the Year at this week's Confor Dinner and Awards.
In his role, Tom champions responsible woodland management and works to strengthen collaboration across the forestry sector. The award recognises individuals who have made outstanding contributions to the advancement of forestry, and Tom’s leadership, outreach and commitment to sustainable forest management make him a very worthy recipient. Judges also recognised his ability to motivate and connect with people across the industry, as well as his dedication to promoting and advancing forestry science and practice.
Tom commented "This award is a huge honour and career highlight. Catherine Nuttgens and Charles Robinson were also shortlisted in this category, and are equally deserving and it’s a privilege to be shortlisted with them."
