The Lockerbie site recently welcomed forestry students from SRUC for an educational visit. During the day, students discussed a range of current challenges and opportunities facing the forestry sector and took part in a guided tour of the Stevens Croft site.
Paul Fotheringham, Lecturer in Forestry at SRUC Barony Campus said. "Our HNC Forestry students had a thoroughly enjoyable and interesting visit and gained a valuable insight into everything that goes in to the running of a modern sawmill. They were particularly impressed with both the complexity and efficiency at all stages of the process from roundwood procurement, all the way through to despatch of the end product which gave many food for thought on their future careers as managers in the future."
