In this episode, Ariane Burgess, MSP chats with Rob MacKenna to discuss commercial forestry as it helps us move Scotland towards being more of a forest nation. Rob is the general manager for James Jones & Sons and is responsible for our timber processing operations in South Scotland. He is also the chair of the UK Timber Grading Committee and on the management board of the SIRT (Strategic Integrated Research in Timber) project.
Rob has a degree in forestry and forest products from the University of Wales in Bangor and an MBA from the Open University, and he's worked in the timber processing industry for 23 years.
