James Jones & Sons' Lockerbie site welcomed 24 students from the University of Edinburgh School of Architecture and Landscape Architecture, as they investigated material sourcing and the timber supply chain.

The group started the day in the forest, looking at commercial planting before arriving at the Stevens Croft site. Rob MacKenna gave a presentation on the UK timber processing industry and sawn softwood markets, focussing on the specification of C16 in construction applications. The group then received a tour of some of the processing operations on site to gain an understanding of the production process.
