The Grand Designs programme scheduled for transmission on Wednesday 17th September features The Roundhouse, an exciting circular home built by the owner

The unusual circular structure has a glulam frame with wall sections created using over 1500 linear metres of 245mm and 300mm depth JJI-Joists, in-filled with insulation to create an air tight structure.

Increasingly architects are specifying JJI-Joists as wall studs in order to create highly efficient wall sections with very high levels of thermal insulation. The joists were supplied through Severn Valley Woodworks.
