Students at Lockerbie Academy enjoyed an afternoon of teamwork, problem-solving and fun during a recent S6 team-building event, supported by a donation of timber from James Jones & Sons' Lockerbie sawmill.

The timber planks were used in two of the day's challenges, the "Ski Run" and "Lava River" activities, which encouraged students to work together, communicate effectively and develop leadership skills. While both activities used the same materials, they required very different approaches, testing the students' creativity and teamwork in equal measure.

Reflecting on the event, Deputy Head Teacher Miss Carrick said:

"It really was a great afternoon and the students thoroughly enjoyed it. The two main events using the planks of wood were the 'Ski Run' and 'Lava River'. As you can see, the planks were used quite differently in each one! Thank you again for your kind generosity in donating the planks – we could never have done it without you."

James Jones & Sons was delighted to support the event and contribute to an activity that helped encourage teamwork and develop problem solving skills.
