Many congratulations to Team O. Carson who, after a long hard season, became Scottish U17 Curling Championships last weekend.

Orrin (14) and Logan Carson (12) along with Archie Hyslop (12) and Charlie Gibb (12) play at U17 level and they have been playing in the U17 Asham Series again this year. This is a national championship played at five different Scottish ice rinks throughout the winter.

The team has an average age of just over twelve and a half, so for them to win at Under 17 level is an excellent achievement.

Ryan Carson, coach of the team said

Curling is a very exciting sport for all ages to play and none more so at junior level which is getting more competitive all the time. Like many sports, it involves a lot of time/weekends away from home, none more so than the series that our team plays in. This involves a lot of travelling and without important sponsors like James Jones & Sons, making these trips and entering these competitions would be near impossible. So, although the boys play the games, without our sponsors we wouldn’t be winning anything
