James Jones & Sons Ltd won two of six awards in the first ever Timber Development UK Awards at an industry dinner this week.
The Training & Apprenticeship category was awarded to James Jones & Sons for its Trainee Management Programme for showing “outstanding commitment and success in training and apprenticeships,” whilst the Sustainability Award was said to recognise a company showing leadership in the push to net zero. James Jones & Sons has recently invested in a number of environmental innovations including the trial of an electric truck, installation of roof mounted solar panels and the installation of further biomass plants at a number of its sites.
Graham Blyth, Sales Director, said “We are delighted to receive the awards for both our sustainability and training initiatives. Our continued investment in our environmental credentials and employee development plans are a big part of our Group ethos and culture and whilst these awards were completely unexpected, they are very much appreciated as industry recognition of our team’s efforts.”
