Members of the James Jones & Sons team attended the 50th APF Exhibition, held at the Ragley Estate in Warwickshire.
One of the UK’s leading forestry events, APF brings together professionals from across the forestry, woodland, arboriculture and timber sectors, with more than 300 exhibitors and an anticipated 25,000 visitors attending the event.
As part of the programme, James Jones & Sons General Manager Rob MacKenna brought a timber processor’s perspective to the Talking Forestry seminar tent, taking part in a discussion on “Forestry in 50 years – species choice for a future climate.”
The session explored how decisions being made around species selection today could shape the resilience and productivity of the UK’s forests for decades to come, as well as the implications for the wider timber supply chain.
Rob said: “These are really important discussions for us to be engaged in. Decisions made today on species choice will have a huge impact on the UK’s forests, the timber processing industry and the supply chains we support in the years to come.
“It’s vital that we work together across the industry to create healthy, resilient forests alongside a strong and sustainable timber processing sector.”
The event provided a valuable opportunity for the James Jones & Sons team to meet with colleagues from across the forestry sector, share perspectives and contribute to discussions around the long-term future of UK forestry and timber.
