Last week a large group from the Institute of Chartered Foresters visited our Lockerbie site for a decarbonising timber transport event. Hosted by Helen McKay OBE, Chief Forester for Scotland and Dr William Clark, Scottish Forestry.

The afternoon comprised of presentations from David Leslie, Joint Managing Director, James Jones & Sons, George Birrell, Kronospan and Neil Stoddart, Creel Consulting on decarbonising through electric vehicles, modal shift and alternative fuels. A site visit involved a walk and talk, showcasing the EV truck, a partnership project with Scottish Forestry, Volvo and Creel Consulting.

The opportunity for networking over lunch and time given to questions promoted a lively discussion on the future of a wide range of decarbonisation solutions for the timber industry.
