Staff from the Harvesting and Planning team in Forestry and Land Scotland (FLS) visited our Lockerbie site last week. Ian Stewart from James Jones & Sons was asked to provide some training on Quality Assurance and Standing Sales documentation. A series of four meetings, aimed at developing the information being provided in respect of standing timber, were held across the country at Inverness, Perth, Oban and Lockerbie in order that as many of the FLS delivery staff could be involved as possible. After the final meeting at Lockerbie, the FLS staff were given a tour of the Group’s state of the art sawmill to see how wood from their forests was processed into construction materials, fencing and other products.

Mick Bottomley, Head of Marketing & Sales for FLS, said “A big thank you to Ian and James Jones for assisting with our quality assurance and training in sales preparation for both our new entrants and existing teams. We hope this will allow our staff to provide a better service to all our customers in the future and provides a great introduction for a suite of training in contract management that is being provided to all FLS Regions.”
