Kilning
Boasting a kilning capacity of more than 200,000m3 per year, James Jones & Sons kiln dries all its own carcassing in a combination of Hildebrand, Utec, Bes Bollman and Mahild kilns.
Aggressive kilning schedules result in quality issues in the finished product. Putting years of experience and a wealth of knowledge to good use, James Jones & Sons adopts a range of sympathetic kilning schedules – up to 130 hours to dry 47mm materials to an average moisture content of 18% (and up to 200 hours for 75mm materials).
This gentle approach ensures a better quality, more stable finished product.
