Treated Timber Warranty Scheme

With a fencing product, performance is everything. Whether you're a fencing retailer, a contractor or a farmer you need to be confident and informed about the specification and performance of the preservative treated timber you're using, every bit as much as you do about any other product, process or piece of equipment.

With a reputation for quality and performance, James Jones & Sons Ltd, one of the leading independent sawmillers and suppliers of British timber, have introduced a 15 year warranty scheme on their range of treated timber products, including fence posts, strainers and stays.

Manufactured from locally grown, fully FSC certified Pine, Larch and Douglas Fir, James Jones' fencing products are produced for use in and above ground contact applications. Pressure treated with the latest generation of Tanalith E preservative, the timbers are protected against all forms of wood decay and insect attack and have a minimum guaranteed service life of 15 years.

Defined by Use Classes (BS EN 335-1), preservative treated timber needs to be specified in the correct Use Class for the job. Use Classes range from 1 to 4, with timbers that require the minimum protection, for instance internal building timbers, coming under Use Class 1, while fencing timbers which are permanently exposed to the weather and could be either used in or out of ground contact, are designated in Use Classes 3.2 and 4. Clearly, it's very important for users to be confident that they are buying the right Use Class of timber for the job and all James Jones' fencing timbers are produced in Use Class 3.2, for out of ground contact timbers, and Use Class 4, for ground contact timbers.

Manufactured in James Jones' own milling and processing facilities by fully trained plant operators, the products are also all clearly marked to identify the year of production and confirm that built-in ‘confidence' in a quality product.
