The proof of the pudding is in the biomass heating.

In keeping with James Jones & Sons’ impeccable environmental credentials, we recently commissioned a biomass boiler system to provide kiln heat at our Aboyne sawmill.

Fuelled by sawmill co-products, it’s estimated that the boiler will reduce carbon emissions by 2,800 tonnes per annum through the substitution of a staggering one million litres of fossil fuel.

Building on this experience, we’re currently exploring all options with a view to establishing a biomass facility at our Lockerbie ‘super-site’ to provide the necessary heat and further reduce CO2 emissions.

These innovations demonstrate James Jones & Sons is at the forefront of both the UK biomass and timber industries.
